Due to overwhelming requests from the youth to work with SUBLIMINAL on a one on one basis, we have created a series of interactive workshops ranging from musical production to architectural design! Classrooms, libraries, community centers and theathres across the G.T.A. have become the stage for students to work alongside SUBLIMINAL and expore fields not normally available to them. Here is a list and brief description of the SUBLIMINAL Vibe workshop options. (also see videos below)
BEAT BOXING
In this workshop students learnd how to make rhythmes using only their mouths. The sounds are layered using special recording equipment, and then played back for those who would like to dance, sing or rap in front of their classmates!

FREESTYLE
This workshop focuses on the art of lyrical imporviastaion. The art of freestyle requires you to pay attention to the timing aof the beat while rapping about objects, subjects or ideas while simultaneously thinikgn of new sentances to rhyme with the last…now that’s really using both sides of the brain!

DJ’ing
Students will test their sense of timing, while trying to overlay one rhythm overtop another.

MUSICAL PRODUCTION
Students will create beat from the ground up, write, record and create a cd cover and lael that reflects the subject matter inherent to that particular song. PLEASE NOTE: This Workshop is a 5 day workshop requiring at least 1.5 hours per day.

STAGE PERFORMANCE
This workshop explores the arto fo opublinc speaking and performance. Students are given helpful hints that can help them with public speaking and stage perfomrnace such as: presenting magerial clearly, how to keep the listeners engaged and what to do should the unexpected occur.

MEDIA LITERACY
Media Literacy within the classroom encourages learners to use critical thinking and critical viewing skills to make reflective and reasoned judgments about media and its multiple messages in film, television, music, Internet, radio and news.

DESIGN
In this workshop SUBLIMINAL will go throught the various ways in which one can design anything from clothes to a house. SUBLIMINAL will help them with their designs and work with them on hoe to problem solve.

SOUND ART
Students are given workds (ie. Success, knowledge, strength) and are asked to create a 1 minute piece that reflects the world they are given. Various sounds are captured and pieced together, thaen plyed back for other students to hear and interpret. PLEASE NOTE: Depending on your schools equipment this workshop can be customized.
